The metaverse takes to the streets

META SHOP – Mark Zuckerberg announced last year that he has given his company a new name: “Meta”. This decision is not due to the fact that now the IT entrepreneur is managing under the same company several social platforms in addition to the Facebbok note. Zuckerberg said he had made this decision as a prelude to his next project: the metaverse. Since then no other announcements or actions have been made about it until with a social post was announced the opening of a physical store of Meta, where you can test and test the technologies that will allow you to live highly immersive experience within the Metaverso.
Meta’s first physical store opens
Digital transformation is a process that began before the pandemic, but has intensified with it. The push for companies to become more and more digital, however, was given by Zuckerberg with his announcement of the development of the Metaverse. Now that store owners are investing more and more in digital, the tech giant has turned the tide. In fact, the first physical store branded Meta is about to open its doors. The first store will be inaugurated on May 9 in California, near the headquarters of the Reality Labs division, the nerve center of the development of the Metaverso.
It will be realized a space of 150 square meters to which are added areas for making video calls with the employees of the store. All the experiences presented in the store are designed to make customers test the necessary technologies, and developed by Meta, to live the experience of the Metaverso at 360. You can test Portal, play Beat Saber or other games on the Quest2 virtual reality headset and try Ray-Ban’s connected camera glasses.

The choice of Zuckerberg to open a physical store where to present some of the immersive technologies at the base of the Metaverso is to bring users as close as possible to this new, and still not fully understood, reality.
And in line with this trend also the Swiss metaverse, Swiss Virtual Expo, moves “on the road”. Passers-by and onlookers will all be invited and experience virtual reality through the Oculus headset. The program of appointments to try to navigate the metaverse provides three stages.
May 9 from 14 to 16 at the Corriere del Ticino in the Maghetti District;
May 11 in Bellinzona to the City of Crafts (from 14 to 16)
