House of Switzerland: Swiss Virtual Expo launches on 25 May

HOUSE OF SWITZERLAND SWISS VIRTUAL EXPO – The House of Artists in Milan will host from 26 April to 12 May the greatest Swiss excellence. A temporary networking and communication platform was inaugurated at House of Switzerland. Innovation, sustainability, art and culture are some of the topics that will be explored in these months during the 30 events scheduled.

During the opening evening, numerous authorities intervened to present the project, both Swiss and Italian. Monika Schmutz Kirgöz, Ambassador for Switzerland in Rome, Stefan Zwicky, Head of Swiss Business Hub Italy, Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan, Luigi Di Maio, Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, were just some of the speakers. Another speaker was Nicolas Bideau, Chief Ambassador of Swiss Presence, the office responsible for nation branding of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, who said:

“The image of Switzerland abroad is generally positive, but often imbued with easy stereotypes linked to the worldwide fame of our chocolate, our cheeses or our wonderful mountains. Little is known about Switzerland’s innovative strength and importance in the fields of science and technology. The project of a traveling House of Switzerland was born from the desire to highlight the innovative, original and sustainable sides of Switzerland and arouse in the audience that will find us the surprise effect”.

Bideau’s original and sustainable innovations include Swiss Virtual Expo. Our metaverse will be presented in the House of Switzerland on 25 May 2022.
